Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google. We also collect your age group (under 13, 13-17, or 18+) and, for users aged 13-17, a record of parental consent with a timestamp.
Preferences and Settings: We store your app settings locally on your device and sync them to our servers when you are logged in.
User Content: The text you enter into the app and any text extracted from images or speech is processed in memory and is not stored on our servers or persisted on your device. Images you download or save are stored only on your device.
Usage Data: We collect information about how you use the app, including features used and daily usage counts (scans and microphone minutes). For users aged 18+, we also collect basic device information such as Android version and screen size through Firebase Analytics. For users aged 13-17, analytics data is collected without advertising identifiers. For users under 13 or without an account, analytics is collected in aggregate only with no device or personal identifiers.
Subscription Data: If you subscribe to a paid plan, Google Play Billing handles all payment processing. We never have access to your credit card or bank details.
AI-Processed Data: When you use optional AI features (image text extraction, speech-to-text) while online, your data is sent through our servers to OpenAI for processing. This data is not stored after the result is returned.
Your data is stored on AWS servers in the European Union. We use HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and encryption at rest for sensitive data. Access is restricted through role-based access controls.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, port, restrict, or object to the processing of your personal data. Contact us at info@dizzy-app.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Dizzy is an educational learning tool designed to help with reading and syllable splitting. We take children's privacy seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Article 8.
Users under 13: Children under 13 cannot create an account. They may use the app without an account. In this mode, no personal data is collected, no device identifiers are stored, and analytics data is collected only in aggregate form (event counts without any link to an individual or device).
Users aged 13-17: Users aged 13-17 may create an account with parental or guardian consent. During registration, the user must confirm that a parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to the use of the app. We store a record of this consent and its date. For these users, analytics data is collected without advertising identifiers — ad personalization and ad-related data collection are disabled.
Users aged 18+: Adult users may create an account by accepting the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. Standard data collection and analytics apply.
If you believe a child has provided personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us at info@dizzy-app.com and we will promptly delete the data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email.
